No, it's not that. [ she takes a step back though, and bows her head slightly. ] Sorry. It just took me off guard, that's all.

[ He looks relieved when she said that. Sometimes he feels like he's on thin ice with her, but it has nothing to do with her and everything to do with his lack of confidence in himself. ]

W-would you like to come in and have a few with me? If you're busy though I understand.

[ she does want to see how he'll react to the chocolate. she's tested it just once and it's the perfect mix of spicy and sweet and bitter. at least, it's perfect in her tastes. ]

I suppose I can stay just to see your face when you eat it.

[ He laughs a little and moves to the side of the door to let her come in, even if it's for a moment. ]

[ in she goes, with a little bit of pep in her step. ]

You weren't busy, were you?

[hurricanechef]

Not at all. I don't have to work today so I was just reading.

[schmisse]

What do you do for work?

[hurricanechef]

I don't have a perminent job, but this month I'm guarding a garden.

[schmisse]

I didn't know you could fight.

[hurricanechef]

O-Oh um. I mean I'm not all that good? B-But you know what doesn't kill you makes you stronger and all that jazz???

[ laughing awkwardly. ]

Are you working with someone?

[hurricanechef]

Actually En ended up signing for the same job this month.

[schmisse]

He fights, too?

... what kind of weapons do you use?

[hurricanechef]

Just um... you know. like magic. Th-the specific kind here?

[SWEATS. WEISS CANT FIND OUT HE'S A BATTLE LOVER. ]

That's dangerous. What if you can't control your emotions?

[ not... that she doubts atsushi or anything, but she doesn't want to rely on dunamis too much. ]

You're right. I need to be careful with this magic. I've been practicing a little, but I might need more than I a little.

[ H-His heart. Weiss was worried about him. ]

[ she cants her head to the side, almost feeling a bit bad. she feels like she's being a bit overbearing. ]

[ did... she sound bossy? she probably did. she doesn't know! ]

[ he shook his head and smiled more. ]

I feel touched that you would worry about me like this.

[ she bites her lip, unsure. ]

I mean, anybody would, right? And to be honest, you just don't... seem like a fighter to me.

Yeah, I'm kind of the bookworm type, huh.

[schmisse]

Even bookworms can be combatants.

It just. . . [ she waves a hand dismissively, unsure how to say it. he just seems like you can easily bend him in half, that's all. (then again, so is she.) ]

Shouldn't you be eating the chocolates?

o-oh right! S-sorry!

[ He laughed sheepishly and quickly opened the box, setting it down on the coffee table near by. ]

[ she saunters over to the other side and takes a seat, sitting properly with hands on her knees. she knows the chocolates taste good, but it's worth waiting for his reaction, anyway. ]
