[ she's a bit too short to reach the top of his head, but she tries to swat away the rainbow. it's distracting. seeing a she can't, she takes a few steps back angrily, cheeks slightly puffed. ]

Come on, then.

[ that was embarrassing. she's just going to go ahead now and grab a seat by the window. ]

[ He looked a little confused and the rainbow started to fade as he followed behind her. He was just... so happy that he didn't lose a friend he was starting to treasure all over again.]

They at least have to have mille-feuille. [ she whispers. and the waiter doesn't seem to have anything against the order...! it works perfectly. ]

[hurricanechef]

I think I'll trust your taste and have what you're having then.

[schmisse]

[ she nods to the waiter, and before leaving, he tells them that their orders will be served in about five minutes. ]

I want to get something for En, too. What does he like?

[hurricanechef]

Hmm... Well if they let us take home some drink, he would probably like some green tea. And as for a snack, he likes things that are mildly sweet so maybe something like cinnamon bread or something?

[schmisse]

Alright. Take some home later, then.

[ the waiter leaves to prepare their orders. she smiles at atsushi now that they're alone, though... she doesn't really know what to tell him after apologising already. ]

[hurricanechef]

[ He gives her a smile back, but the silence is kind of awkward and uncomfortable. He wasn't really sure what to bring up with her. Asking how her stay back home was would probably upset her and it's rude to be nosy. Asking her how she was doing might be okay, but she might want a break from that kind of talk... aha! ]

Weiss! Why couldn't the pony sing?

[schmisse]

[ her eyebrows furrow, almost suspicious. ]

Why?

[hurricanechef]

Because it was a little hoarse.

[schmisse]

[ silence.

for a good few seconds or so.

then weiss shakes her head. ]

I'd tell you a chemistry joke, but I know I wouldn't get a reaction.

[hurricanechef]

What tea can vary in taste from bitter to sweet?

[schmisse]

[ she's so glad somebody laughs at her jokes. ]

[schmisse]

[ she arches an eyebrow at that ]

I don't get it.

[hurricanechef]

[ He laughs a bit and rubs the back of his head. ]

I guess it's harder to get when it's not written out. It's because reality can be very sweet, but sometimes it can be very cruel, but if you write tea at the end instead it's reali [ As he says the tea part he holds up air quotes. ] "tea".

Oh! That makes sense.

[ she covers her mouth as she giggles. ]

I can't think of any other jokes now.

[ these kind of jokes were her thing! it actually makes her miss yang a lot now. ]

The jokes I heard back home weren't like this. They were always jokes about how rich people were, blah blah blah. It was so stupid.

Those are the worst. As if making fun of someone for something they can't help is something funny.

They tend to bring the less fortunate down, too.

[ their food and tea arrive! ]

It... really sucked being there.

[ Atsushi bows his head a little and gives the person a smile as they hand over their things. ]

Being th-- back home?

[schmisse]

Yeah.

[ hm... that was vague. maybe she should explain further. ]

I'm from a kingdom called Atlas, but I went to the kingdom of Vale to study at Beacon Academy, a combat school. Some bad things happened like Grimm attacking the town, and there were a lot of casualties. And... nobody really knows what happened to the headmaster. But Beacon closed down because of it.

My father took me back to Atlas. I was on the plane home when I was first brought here. And when I went back, I was in our mansion and... well, I was there for a year. I attended parties, met a lot of businessmen and women. . . [ and hesitantly: ] Heiress business.
