[ He smiled warmly and held the door open for him. ]

He's at work right now.

[ He bows his head politely as he enters, offering the small bag. ]

I got him one too... it's not as good cold, but it's there. He's not the type to care, I imagine.

[ Nice to be in a warm house. ]

Geez, it's weird being in a place that actually gets cold. Southern island life spoiled me.

I can't even imagine what it'd be like to live somewhere always warm.

[ he takes the bag from Takuto with a warm smile. ]

A-ah... you didn't have to get us anything, Takuto.

It feels bad to intrude on a home and not bring anything.

[ Or, y'know, have to lean on someone for a little while to take his mind off the radio silence of a good friend. ]

I suppose that's true... but still!

You give so much. It's okay to take and recieve now and then.

[ Geez... he's so sweet when he fusses. Takuto doesn't make himself at home like before, though; he's stiffer and reserved. ]

Mmm, I suppose you do have a point.

[ He wasn't going to force Takuto to sit if he didn't want to. He just goes to drop off the bag in the kitchen area and comes back with two cups of tea, handing one to Takuto. It's bright red with sparkles. ]

[ Oh! -- wait. He looks at the cup, curiously. But he does, finally, relax a little and go sit. ]

My cup seems kinda special...

H-huh? Oh um.

[ He gives a sheepish smile, scratching his cheek with his now free hand. ]

A-ah well. It made me think of you when I was out shopping one day, so I thought it might be nice to bring home in case you came to visit.

[universalboy]

[ That's so sweet!!! His face cracks into a smile. ]

Hmm, well, I am here... so it worked out.

I thought it would be a nice way so you feel comfortable here. I know it's just a cup but...

[ Because he is! True, he's met other people like this, but Atsushi is his own brand of... hmm. Doting? ]

Me? I-I dunno about that. I'm just doing what comes naturally.

[universalboy]

There's strength in being soft.

[ It's hard to live being closed off, but harder to live with your heart exposed and open. ]

That's why I come to you when I just need... I don't know. Something like that. Senpai's gentle presence.

I feel like I've upgraded from Senpai to Okaa-san.

I didn't have a mom, so maybe that's why I'm drawn to you.

Yeah. My grandpa, my dad's dad, raised me. That was my whole family. And... y'know how I'm the Galactic Pretty Boy? My dad didn't inherit it because of how he was. He wanted me dead. The whole Glittering Crux organization was his. He... hurt a lot of people. For years.

So now you know. Maybe that's why I like you so much. You're... soft. I never really had that. I guess?

[ Atsushi frowned deeply, his eyes even getting a little misty. ]

I don't like talking about it - it's one of my secrets. But my best friends know... and I guess I wanted you to, too. I'm okay! I've dealt with it. And I love my grandpa and my friends. I used to have a pocket watch with a photo of mom in it, but I gave it to Wako. Otherwise I'd show you.

[hurricanechef]

Would it... I mean... would you mind if... I gave you a hug right now?

[universalboy]

I... yeah, that's fine.

[ His cheeks go all pink as he sets his cup down, snuggling in slightly to give the okay. ]

I thought I told you. I guess not. Sorry... I'm used to the people closest to me knowing about this stuff already.

[hurricanechef]

I knew your father was... not the most paternal, but I wasn't aware of your mother...

[ He sets his own cup down before he walks over to the couch to give him a hug. ]

[universalboy]

Yeah. I'm okay - it's not done anything wrong to me. I hope, anyway. I'd like to think I'm a good person.

[ He mumbles all this into senpai's shoulder. ]

I think you're a wonderful person, Takuto.

[ Hugging him close. ]
